Fionnuala G. Thinnes

Co-Founder and Business Operations Manager

Fionnuala co-founded JTI in 1999 and directs the company’s day-to-day business operations, overseeing finance and accounting, human resources, and technical operations. She also works on select JTI projects.
In addition, Fionnuala serves as Vice President of the non-profit Breakthrough Art Organization. In 2010, she ran Breakthrough’s inaugural program, Twenty Years After German Unification – Critical Perspectives of Berlin Artists. This program brought 10 previously “dissident” artists from the former East Germany and 90 of their original artworks to 5 U.S. cities for individually-tailored community outreach programs and public exhibits.
Fionnuala started her career at the World Affairs Council of Arizona, as program lead and office manager. The Council, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program, connects leaders from around the world with leaders in U.S. communities through customized local programs.
Next, Fionnuala managed public relations (PR) and corporate identity initiatives for the global advertising headquarters of the French CAC 40 company Bull HN, located in Boston, Massachusetts. Fionnuala then moved to Berlin, where she was involved in creating the PR/Sponsorship department for the newly-formed East German division of The Coca-Cola Company. Later, she oversaw PR for the unique Berlin joint venture inpro Innovationsgesellschaft mbH, which bridges the gap between cutting-edge innovation and the auto industry.
Fionnuala has a BA in Applied Languages (Translating with Interpreting) from Dublin City University in Dublin, Ireland. She is fluent in English and German and conversant in French.
